About SriLankanism

SriLankanism is a community-built record of the slang, expressions, and memes that Sri Lankans share every day. Much of this lives only in conversation, group chats, and social feeds, where meanings shift over time and older references fade before anyone thinks to write them down. The Sinhala Urban Dictionary covers the slang, inside jokes, workplace shorthand, and the everyday mix of Sinhala and English that standard dictionaries leave out, with a plain definition, a real example, and both the English and Sinhala spellings where they apply. Sri Lankan Memes goes further, explaining where a meme or viral moment came from, what it means, and how it spread.

Anyone can search, read, vote, and submit without an account. New words and memes go into a review queue and appear once an admin approves them, which keeps the content accurate and dependable. If something is missing, add a word or a meme, and it is worth reading the submission guidelines first, since they explain what makes a clear and useful entry.
